This Privacy Policy explains how Droidsmith (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with AU Salary Calculator (“the App”), an Android application that estimates take-home pay under Australian tax rules. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
The App does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address or location. The figures you enter are processed on your device and are not sent to us. The App does not contain advertising and does not use analytics or tracking.
Information stored on your device. The App stores the information you enter and your preferences, such as salary and tax settings and saved profiles, on your device only. We do not have access to this information.
Subscription information. If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Google Play. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. To confirm your subscription, we receive limited purchase information from Google Play, such as a purchase reference, the subscription purchased, its status and expiry date, and an anonymous identifier generated by the App.
Information you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
We use the information described above only to provide and maintain the App, to confirm and manage subscriptions, to prevent fraud and misuse, and to respond to your enquiries. We do not use it for advertising or profiling. Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you and our legitimate interests in operating the App securely.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf to operate the App, subject to confidentiality obligations, or where we are required to do so by law. Our service providers may process information outside Australia.
The App uses services provided by Google, including Google Play and Google Play services, to offer and manage subscriptions. These services may collect information in accordance with their own policies, including Google’s Privacy Policy. If backup is enabled on your device, Android may include the App’s settings in your device backup, which is managed by Google under your Google Account.
Information stored on your device remains there until you delete it, reset the App or uninstall the App. Subscription information is retained only while it is needed to provide your subscription and prevent fraud, and is deleted no later than 90 days after your subscription ends. Correspondence is retained only for as long as needed to respond to you. You may ask us to delete any information we hold about you by contacting us.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption of information in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, and to object to its processing. To make a request or a privacy complaint, contact us using the details below. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or the privacy authority where you live. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Google Play.
The App is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this address, and the effective date above will be revised accordingly.
